Patient Predictors of Hospitalization for Pediatric Migraine (P6.335)
Conclusions Our data suggest racial and socioeconomic differences in treatment of migraine, known to be present in adults, are also observed in pediatric datasets. Contributing factors may include differences in migraine features, cultural perception of pain, disparities in access and quality of care. Efforts to reduce disparities in migraine disability may need to consider the early evolution of disparities in treatment and care.Disclosure: Dr. Patel has nothing to disclose. For additional comparison, we investigated the risk for adults with migraine only. Epilepsy and migraine are both episodic neurological disorders and migraine is frequently comorbid with epilepsy.METHODS: We conducted a time-to-event analysis using a subset of s...

Trends in utilization and costs of migraine medications, 2017 –2020
ConclusionOur study demonstrates a shift in migraine medication utilization from 2017 –2020, where increased use of CGRP mABs had a significant contribution to increased costs. These increased pharmacy costs must be weighed against the improved tolerability of these agents likely resulting in other healthcare and indirect cost savings.
